+PLEASED (f, 3, Bernardini–Cindy's Hero {GISW, $371,975}, by Sea Hero) showed a powerful stretch kick to graduate first out going a mile at Gulfstream. Showing an above-average worktab at Palm Beach Downs, including a bullet half-mile breeze in :48 flat (1/17) there Apr. 24, the $350,000 Fasig-Tipton March buy was given a 5-2 chance in this debut and was bumped at the start before settling in second. Stalking the pace of favored stablemate Bixby Lou (Harlan's Holiday) through splits of :23.04, :45.78 and 1:10 flat, the dark bay crept up willingly at the three-sixteenths pole and easily overtook the frontrunner in midstretch before kicking clear in the final furlong to a sharp 4 3/4-length score. Bixby Lou held for second. The winner is a half to Delegation (Speightstown), MGSW & GISP, $539,825. Cindy's Hero, victress of the 2001 GI Del Mar Debutante S., is a half to GISW Fourty Niners Son (Distorted Humor), as well as the dam of Saturday's GII American Turf S. upsetter Arklow (Arch). She produced a full-sister to the winner Feb. 22. Sales History: $100,000 Ylg '15 KEESEP. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $21,600. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
