BHA Allows Pat Cosgrave to Ride in Britain

COSGRAVE FREE TO RIDE IN BRITAIN
Jockey Pat Cosgrave, suspended four months by the Emirates Racing Authority as a result of his ride aboard third place finisher Anaerobio (Arg) (Catcher in the Rye {Ire}) in the G1 Jebel Hatta at Meydan Mar. 8, is permitted to ride in Britain this summer after the British Horseracing Authority announced it would uphold an application by the jockey to not reciprocate the ban. The BHA announced their decision on Twitter today, stating their reasons would be published ìin due course.î

Cosgrave was in March handed a six-month ban by the ERA after it was deemed that he purposely allowed his front-running mount to drift out, allowing clear running room up the rail for Mike de Kock stablemate and eventual winner Vercingetorix (Saf) (Silvano {Ger}). The ERA reduced the ban to four months after it was appealed by Cosgrave.
