IEAH Stables and Paul Pompa Jr.'s Big Brown (Boundary), the 3-1 morning-line favorite for Saturday's GI Kentucky Derby, and outsider Smooth Air (Smooth Jazz) each registered three-furlong breezes Thursday morning at Churchill Downs. Big Brown, a $60,000 FTKOCT yearling who was resold for $190,000 at last year's Keeneland April Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training, earned the bullet for the morning, covering the distance in :35 2/5 in his first serious move over the Churchill Downs surface. The GI Florida Derby winner drew post position 20 Wednesday afternoon. Smooth Air, runner-up in the Florida Derby, got his three-eighths of a mile in a much more leisurely :38 1/5.
