Joint Return was third on debut over a sloppy surface at Parx Oct. 8 and returned to graduate there Nov. 19. She came from the clouds to capture a one-mile allowance at that venue by 4 3/4 lengths in her sophomore debut Jan. 1. Let go at 7-1 for this black-type bow, the dark bay was away well from her inside draw and trailed the field by several lengths through leisurely opening splits of :24.28 and :50.28. Advancing on the field in the backstretch with plenty left in the tank, Joint Return was four-wide rounding the bend, reeled in the leaders in mid-stretch, and surged clear to win going away. This test was won last term by MGISW Princess of Sylmar (Majestic Warrior). “Today she was really on the muscle as I warmed her up,” winning rider Kendrick Carmouche. “We left there and she put me in a good position. Being four and a half, five lengths off of it is a good pace for her, and I thought from there they couldn’t beat her.” Lifetime Record: 4-3-0-1, $119,660. Click for the brisnet.com chart or VIDEO.
