Bill Mott Bags Three On Sunshine Millions Day

Proving hard to beat on Sunshine Millions Day, trainer Bill Mott capped off a stellar afternoon as his Go Between (Point Given) charged home the winner in the $1 million SM Classic at Santa Anita. Mott also sent out Quite a Bride (Stormy Atlantic) to upset Nashoba's Key (Silver Hawk) in the $500,000 SM F/M Turf in Arcadia, and War Monger (War Chant) to take the $500,000 SM Turf at Gulfstream. Florida-breds also dominated, winning seven of the eight Sunshine Millions event, but the lone Cal-bred to score set a world record in the process. Bob Black Jack (Stormy Jack), a $4,500 BESJAN yearling, reeled off six furlongs in 1:06.53 in the $250,000 SM Dash, the fastest time ever on a non-grass surface.
