Bill Subjects KHRC Employees to Ethics Laws

By

A Kentucky senator introduced a bill on Tuesday that would subject members and employees of the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission to the state's Executive Branch Code of Ethics.

SB181 would amend KRS 230.230 by inserting “Kentucky Horse Racing Commission” alongside a dozen other state agencies that are already in the law, such as the parole board, public service commission, board of education, and teachers' retirement system trustees.

Senator Whitney Westerfield's bill would also amend KRS 11A.010 to include management personnel of the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission within the definition of “officer” for purposes of the Executive Branch Codes of Ethics.
