Blandford Plan For Queen's Trust

Chris Richardson | Racing Post

With ten group races up for grabs over Irish Champions Weekend a lot of trainers and owners are finalising plans for their relative stars and one candidate that will go to Ireland seeking a first victory this season is Queen's Trust (GB) (Dansili {GB}). Cheveley Park Stud's homebred filly is earmarked for the G2 Moyglare “Jewels” Blandford S. at The Curragh next Sunday. Having made a successful juvenile debut last year the Sir Michael Stoute trained 3-year-old has yet to add to that score despite some highly creditable placed efforts in top company. “A final decision has not yet been made, but the Blandford Stakes looks the obvious one to try and have a crack at,” said Cheveley Park managing director Chris Richardson. Queen's Trust brought her form to a new level when running Minding (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) to a length and a quarter in the G1 Qatar Nassau S. at Goodwood before running third to the Ballydoyle pair Seventh Heaven (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) and Found (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) in the G1 Darley Yorkshire Oaks. “I think the ground was plenty quick enough for her at York. She came there cruising and didn't let herself down on the ground,” said Richardson. “She ran a very nice race against an Oaks winner and a Breeders' Cup winner so it was a fair bit of placing. If there was a bit of ease in the ground she would have lengthened out more. Having been second to Minding the time before her form is high class,” he added.
