Southern Equine Stable'S Elusive Bluff (Elusive Quality) has been scratched from Saturday's GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile after suffering a bruised hoof. “Just another day in paradise,” trainer Eric Guillot yesterday. “That's racing. It was a freakish thing. In the bulb of a back foot he bruised the shell. He was dead lame yesterday afternoon. We decided to scratch last night. He's walking fine this morning, but he can't put any weight on it, so he can't jog. He'll be 100 percent next week, but that doesn't help us right now.” Elusive Bluff would have been making his first start on the main track in the Juvenile. In two grass starts, he won a Belmont maiden at first asking Sept. 5 and, after being purchased privately by Mike Moreno's Southern Equine, rallied to take the GIII Pilgrim S. in New York Oct. 1.
