My Dream Boat (Ire) (Lord Shanakill) will return to the scene of his finest hour when he runs in the G1 QIPCO Champion S. at Ascot on Oct. 15. Clive Cox's stable star won the G1 Prince of Wales's S. at the Royal meeting in June before disappointing in the G1 Coral-Eclipse S. at Sandown. After a break, he finished a highly respectable fifth in the G1 QIPCO Irish Champion S., widely regarded as the hottest race of the season to date.
“I was very happy with My Dream Boat in what was a hotly-contested Group 1,” said Cox. “To be part of it and perform how he did in such an event, we were thrilled. Even though he didn't win, he ran another solid race and confirmed his well-being. He has come out of the race well and we will be looking at the Champion S. We are very relaxed about this time of year, as we are likely to get more rain than not, so he should have his perfect surface.”
