MSW & GISP Bon Jovi Girl (Malibu Moon–Chipeta Springs, by Alydar) brought the second-highest price so far at KEEJAN, selling for $950,000 to Denali Stud, bidding on behalf of an undisclosed buyer. Consigned by Gainesway, Agent IX, the four-year-old racing or broodmare prospect is a half-sister to MGISW Gio Ponti (Tale of the Cat), who was second in last year's GI Breeders' Cup Classic. Bon Jovi Girl won five of 15 starts for owner/trainer Tim Ritchey and was third in the GI Gazelle S. Nov. 28 in her most recent start. The dark bay was a $190,000 KEESEP yearling.
