Sheikh Joaan's Haras de Bouquetot will sponsor this year's inaugural Haras de Bouquetot – Criterium de la Vente d'Octobre Arqana (the October Sale Criterium) at Chantilly on Sept. 30, the eve of the G1 Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. Worth €250,000, the October Sale Criterium is restricted to graduates of Arqana's October Yearling Sale that have paid at three entry stages. The breeders of the first three home will also win a nomination to a Bouquetot stallion: the winner Shalaa (Ire), the second Olympic Glory (Ire) and the third Style Vendome (Fr).
“Supporting the French breeding industry has been one of the key objectives of Haras de Bouquetot since it was purchased by Sheikh Joaan Al Thani in 2012,” said the stud's assistant managing director Benoit Jeffroy. “Therefore, we are thrilled
to partner with Arqana, and more specifically with the October Yearling Sale, which represents the broadest commercial showcase for French-based breeders. At Bouquetot, we strive to offer breeders competitively-priced stallions that won at the highest level and have the right profile to appeal to yearling buyers. Style Vendome, who just sired his first winner; Olympic Glory, whose first yearlings will be at the sales later this year as well as Shalaa, Europe's most expensive first-season sire in 2017, are typical examples of this policy and we are delighted to make them even more accessible to French breeders via
this innovative sponsorship.”
