Millionaire Bourbon Courage (Lion Heart–Shine Forth, by Carson City), winner of the 2012 GII Super Derby, has been retired. The $15,000 FTKJUL yearling purchase also hit the board in a trio of Grade I events, including a runner-up finish in the GI Donn H. at Gulfstream Park.
Bourbon Courage's dam Shine Forth is out of the Danzig mare Sister Crown, a full sister to champion Chiefs Crown. Campaigned by Bourbon Lane Stable, the bay retires with a record of 25-4-6-6 and earnings of $1,129,187. He was bred in Kentucky by Oscar and Eloise Penn.
