Participating students will be asked to write about the race's legacy and humanitarian efforts and initiatives that the Breeders Cup has engineered for the last 33 years. The winner of the essay contest will receive a college scholarship check for $2,650 for the purpose of attending medical school at a four-year University. The contest is open to all students in the South Shore International HOSA/Medical Program. The contest winner will be announced Nov. 8.
