Chad Brown, Irad Ortiz, Jr. and Godolphin were the leading trainer, jockey and owner during the weekend's Belmont Stakes Racing Festival Championship. The competition, based on a 5-3-2-1 point basis, began with the first race last Thursday and continued through the 12th race on Belmont Stakes day Saturday.
Brown earned the “Sunny” Jim Fitzsimmons Award for Outstanding Trainer after wins highlighted by Flintshire (GB) (Dansili {GB}) in the GI Woodford Reserve Manhattan S., Economic Model (Flatter) in the Easy Goer S., Zindaya (More Than Ready)'s win in the Intercontinental S. and a one-two-three finish led by Dacita (Chi) (Scat Daddy) in the GII New York S.
Ortiz won the Eddie Arcaro Award after riding Creator (Tapit) to victory in the GI Belmont S., Kareena (Medaglia d'Oro)'s win in the Jersey Girl and Dacita's win in the New York.
Godolphin's colors were carried to victory by Kareena and by Frosted (Tapit) in the GI Metropolitan H., earning the operation the August Belmont trophy.
