Trainer Chad Brown established a new record for the most wins at the Saratoga summer meet when Juddmonte Farms' Mexican Gold (Medaglia d'Oro) captured the 10th race Sunday, giving him his 39th victory of the 2016 stand. The total eclipsed Todd Pletcher's previous mark of 38 wins in 2011. Brown also clinched a win in the Saratoga standings for the first time in his career Sunday.

“It really feels like a dream come true,” said Brown, the leading trainer on the New York Racing Association circuit in 2015. “I'm really just like the lead singer of a band–the people behind me make the music. I'm here right now giving the interview but I have 150 employees and every single one of them I find to be highly skilled and highly dependable in working as a team.”

Brown finished second behind Pletcher in the standings for the training title in each of the past five years. Among the other highlights of Brown's 2016 meet is notching his 1,000th career victory at the Spa Aug. 24. He captured two Grade I events at the meet with Flintshire (GB) (Dansili {GB}) in the Sword Dancer Aug. 27 and Dacita (Chi) (Scat Daddy) in the Diana July 23.
