Buick In “Good Spirits”

William Buick | Racing Post

William Buick was in “good spirits” on Sunday, according to his father Walter Buick, as he awaited further tests following a fall from the fatally injured Permian (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}) in the GI Secretariat S. at Arlington Park on Saturday. The Mark Johnston-trained colt crossed the finish line in last and fractured a foreleg just strides after the wire, unseating Buick, who was reported to have suffered a fractured T12 vertebrae. Walter Buick said on Sunday, “William is going to have a second scan and hopefully they can get him on a flight home later today. It could have been an awful lot worse. I've spoken to him today and he is in good spirits.”
