Calder is postponing Saturday's GIII My Charmer H. and GIII Tropical Turf H. after it was revealed that a horse stabled at the Miami-area track tested positive for equine herpesvirus (EHV-1), according to Daily Racing Form. Three barns at Calder have been placed under quarantine, and no horses will be allowed to ship into Calder for a two-week period that began Nov. 30. It is not certain when or if the black-type events will be rescheduled. “Obviously this is going to hurt our ability to fill races for the next couple of weeks,” Mike Anifantis, Calder's racing secretary, told DRF. “This is the time of year when we really start receiving a large number of entries from Northern stables, which not only increases the quantity, but greatly improves the quality of the fields.”
