The globetrotting Campanologist (Kingmambo–Ring of Music, by Sadler's Wells), a four-time winner at the highest level for Godolphin, succumbed to colic en route from Argentina to Gestut Fahrhof in Germany, the stud reported Saturday afternoon. The 10-year-old had shuttled to Haras Santa Maria de Araras.
Racing through the age of seven, Campanologist claimed the G1 Grosser Preis Von Lotto Hamburg, the G1 Rheinland-Pokal and the G1 Preis Von Europa in Germany, as well as the G1 Gran Premio Jockey Club in Italy. He also scored group victories in the G2 King Edward VII S. and

Out of a half-sister to champion and MGISW Singspiel (Ire) (In the Wings {GB}) and GSWs and G1SPs Rahy and Rakeen (Northern Dancer), Campanologist's second dam was Canadian Horse of the Year Glorious Song (Halo). Campanologist was slated to stand for €6,500 for his fourth season at Gestut Fahrhof. Twenty of his first yearlings sold for an average of $42,118, topped by a colt out of Praia (Ger) (Big Shuffle), who sold for 140,000gns at Tattersalls October. His oldest foals will be 2-year-olds in 2016.
