BANKIT (c, 2, Central Banker–Sister in Arms, by Colonel John) set the pace before finishing second behind subsequent GIII Sanford S. runner Lexitonian (Speightstown) in his five-furlong debut versus open company at Belmont Park June 27. The 1-5 favorite, looking to become the third winner for his freshman sire (by Speightstown), was away alertly and contested the pace through fractions of :22.62 and :46.06. He kicked clear in the final furlong and strode home a 6 3/4-length winner. The Grand Canel (Bullet Train {GB}) was second. Purchased by SGV Thoroughbreds for $85,000 at last year's Fasig-Tipton Saratoga New York-bred Yearlings sale, Bankit sold to Winchell Thoroughbreds for $260,000 after working a furlong in :10 2/5 at this year's OBS March sale. Sister in Arms, a half-sister to stakes winner and multiple graded stakes placed Quiet Meadow (El Prado {Ire}), was purchased by Hidden Brook Farm and Blue Devil Racing for $125,000 at the 2012 Fasig-Tipton New York-bred Yearling sale. The mare produced a colt by Awesome Again in 2017 and a filly by Animal Kingdom this year. She was bred back to Hard Spun. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton. Lifetime Record: 2-1-1-0, $56,250.
