Certerach On Comeback Trail

Last year’s G2 Dubai Gold Cup winner Certerach (Ire) (Halling) is progressing well towards a comeback, according to trainer Mick Halford, and is targeting the G3 Curragh Cup June 28. The 7-year-old gelding was last seen finishing eighth in the Listed Finale S. at The Curragh in October, and was unable to defend his Gold Cup crown after suffering a setback over the winter. 

“He’s back in full work now and we’re very happy with him,” said Halford. “We’ll probably go for something like the Curragh Cup with him on Irish Derby weekend. That might be his first run back. He’s sound as a bell and is in good form.”
