Change Of Plan For Can The Man

Can The Man | Spendthrift

Spendthrift have announced their stallion Can The Man (Into Mischief–Smolensk, by Danzig) will not shuttle to their Australian Farm for the 2016 breeding season. The Victorian-based stud will waive the 2015 service fee for all breeders who supported Can The Man in his first season last year. Spendthrift Australia has also held discussions with all 'Share The Upside' program participants of Can The Man to receive a complimentary service to one of its other stallions in 2016, as well as other future considerations.

Spendthrift's B. Wayne Hughes commented, “In our inaugural season last year, we brought in a diverse group of what we thought were four young and exciting stallion prospects to offer Australian breeders. Can The Man is a precocious and exceptional-looking son of our up-and-coming sire Into Mischief (Harlan's Holiday), and he's been well-received in America. However, he simply was not as well-received in Australia, so we did not feel it would be to anyone's advantage to bring him back in 2016.”

Hughes continued, “Spendthrift will always strive to put the breeders' best interests first, and we will continue to try and offer stallions and programs from which the breeders of Australia can prosper. We have reached out to those who supported Can The Man, and we are pleased to have the opportunity to offer breeders a beneficial solution in a rare case like this when things don't work out.”

Spendthrift Australia's 2016 stallion roster will include Hampton Court (Aus) (Redoute's Choice {Aus}) (A$8,800 inc. GST), Jimmy Creed (Distorted Humor) (A$8,800 inc. GST), and Warrior's Reward (Medaglia d'Oro) (A$11,000 inc. GST).
