Willis Horton and Three Chimney's champion Will Take Charge (Unbridled's Song) will kick off his 4-year-old campaign in the GI Donn H. at Gulfstream Feb. 9. The flashy chestnut, hero of last term's GI Travers S., followed a nose defeat in the GI Breeders' Cup Classic with a dramatic win over Game On Dude (Awesome Again) in the GI Clark H. at Churchill Nov. 29. “I haven't seen the weights yet and I'm not sure who else is running, but it's the first Grade I race of the year [for older horses], so I thought we'd take advantage of it,” Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas said. Will Take Charge has been training smartly at Oaklawn Park, most recently covering six furlongs in 1:14.80. “He's been training sensationally,” Lukas said. “He's really developed and filled out, and he's been doing very, very well.” WinStar Farm's Revolutionary (War Pass) is also slated to line up for the Donn. The 2013 GII Louisiana Derby hero and GI Kentucky Derby third-place finisher returned from the bench with a $100,000 optional claiming score at Gulfstream Jan. 11. “As you would expect for the Donn, it's a Grade I and it's going to be a tough race, but we're looking forward to it,” trainer Todd Pletcher commented.
