Chipping in for Johnny Morris Golf Tournament Oct. 3

Reservations are now being accepted for the fifth annual “Chipping in for Johnny” Morris Golf Tournament, set for Monday, Oct. 3 at the University Club of Kentucky near Lexington. The scramble-format tournament will begin at noon and registration is $150 per golfer or $600 per foursome, with 100% of proceeds going to charitable causes.

“Chipping in for Johnny” tournament has raised about $225,000 for various causes including the John Joseph Morris Trust, established to defray a portion of the rehabilitation expenses of Johnny Morris, the 27-year-old son of longtime horse industry executive Joe Morris. The younger Morris suffered paralysis in an accident in July 2012.

In addition to the Morris Trust, this year's tournament also will benefit: Easter Seals Cardinal Hill, funding an adapted recreation program located in Lexington; the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund (PDJF); and the Project Walk Recovery Foundation, which is dedicated to improving the quality of life of persons with paralysis by making alternative activity-based recovery treatments available to all affected individuals regardless of that person's financial condition.

For reservations or for information about sponsorship opportunities and donations, contact the NTRA's Heather Brown at (866) 678-4289 or hbrown@ntra.com. Donations to the John Joseph Morris Trust also can be made directly by calling Chase Bank at (859) 231-2554.
