Churchill Cancels Half Of Friday Card

The second half of the twilight card at Churchill Downs Friday had to be called off due to severe weather. Heavy rains and thunderstorms hit the area, causing the fourth race to be delayed. The fifth race went off as scheduled, but the skies opened up again as the horses were in the paddock for the sixth race, and the sixth through 10th events were canceled. Charles Town was also the victim of the storms. The West Virginia track, forced to scrap its Thursday night card, was out of action for the second straight night Friday. Both Churchill and Charles Town were expected to be open Saturday.
