The next in line of the Derby trials features the expected Ballydoyle representation in the form of Cook Islands, who was a well-beaten fourth in the G3 Ballysax S. over this trip at Leopardstown Apr. 10, and the Apr. 22 Dundalk maiden winner Housesofparliament. A win for either would provide Aidan O'Brien with a sixth renewal, but Godolphin's Apr. 14 £200,000 Tattersalls Millions 3-y-o Trophy winner Linguistic stands in the way. He had Ballydoyle's Listed Lingfield Derby Trial contender Landofhopeandglory (Ire) (High Chaparral {Ire}) back in fourth in that 10-furlong Newmarket sales race, but the third-placed Biodynamic (Ire) (New Approach {Ire}) let the form down when nine lengths fourth in Thursday's G3 Chester Vase.
