While Churchill (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) and Winter (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) were strutting their stuff at The Curragh over the weekend their younger own siblings both made their racecourse debuts in the same 2-year-old fillies maiden at The Curragh on Saturday. Clemmie (Ire) named after the wife of Winston Churchill fared the better of the pair when finishing an eye catching third to the Jim Bolger trained Gasta (Ire) (Vocalised), despite being slow to break and running noticeably green through the early stages. “Ryan [Moore] was very happy with Clemmie. She was out the back early and I thought she was going to run badly looking at her early, but she finished very well. Churchill ran a race a little bit like that when he ran there on his debut,” the trainer said. Winter's sister Snowflakes (Ire) encountered traffic problems and finished towards the rear but Aidan O'Brien was far from disappointed with her performance. “Donnacha [O'Brien] was very happy with Snowflakes as well. It just closed up around her and he felt he went to the line on the bridle. She's obviously very smart as well,” O'Brien added. Churchill won the Listed Chesham S. at Ascot on his second start last year and O'Brien is eyeing a similar route with his sister. “Ascot probably will be in the equation for both and that was the reason for getting them out. We could look at the Chesham and the Albany, even though they will come on from it. If they go to Ascot and are green, so be it, it will be good experience for them and we'll definitely look at it.”
