Clemmie Takes Grangecon Test

Clemmie | Racing Post

Given her connection to Churchill (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), the G1 English and Irish 2000 Guineas hero's full-sister Clemmie (Ire) remains newsworthy until proving otherwise and she will attract more of the limelight in Sunday's G3 Grangecon Stud S. at The Curragh. Third of the group racing far side which included the first and second Different League (Fr) (Dabirsim {Fr}) and Alpha Centauri (Ire) (Mastercraftsman {Ire}), but seventh overall, in Royal Ascot's G3 Albany S. over this trip nine days ago, the bay– who was previously third in a course-and-distance maiden at the Irish Guineas meeting on May 27–is picked by Ryan Moore over Butterscotch (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}). The latter won impressively over six furlongs at Naas on Wednesday, having previously found Sometimesadiamond (Ire) (Vocalised) a half-length too strong in a Fairyhouse maiden also at this distance on June 16.

Johnny Murtagh saddles the unbeaten Too Familiar (Ire) (Clodovil {Ire}), who beat Clemmie's maiden conqueror Gasta (Ire) (Vocalised) by a half-length in a five-furlong conditions race here on June 10.
