Concord Point Gelding Impresses in Los Alamitos Graduation

7th-LRC, $46,845, Msw, 12-17, 3yo/up, 6f, 1:08.14, ft.
AMERICANIZE (g, 3, Concord Point–American Story {GSP, $189,200}, by Ghostzapper) returned off a promising debut six months in the rearview with an open-lengths graduation in sharp time at Los Alamitos. A close second with an 88 Beyer in his career bow June 4 at Santa Anita, the gray returned as a new gelding and was bet down to 7-10. Breaking sharply, he dictated terms through a :21.70 quarter and shook clear by a quick :44.20 half. Briefly challenged by stablemate Lord Simba (Discreet Cat) in early stretch, Americanize soon disposed of that colt and coasted home four lengths to the good. The winner is a full-brother to American Gal, SW & MGISP, $320,700, while his dam is a half to MGISW Seventh Street (Street Cry {Ire}) and G1SW Reynaldothewizard (Speightstown). American Story has full-siblings to the winner in a yearling colt named American All Star and a weanling filly named America's Starlet. She was bred back to Bayern this term. Lifetime Record: 2-1-1-0, $38,200. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
