+BROADWAY GAL (f, 2, Congrats–Broadway Gold {SW, $166,645}, by Seeking the Gold), sent off the even-money favorite in this unveiling, narrowly held off the late-closing Valid Valencia (Northern Afleet) to graduate by a head. The dark bay filly chased the pace as Hell of a Nite (Yes It's True) took the field through an opening quarter in :22.68 and pounced to the lead after a half in :46.44. She forged clear in the final furlong before just holding on late. Sweet Summer Sweat (After Market) stumbled out of the gate and unseated jockey Tyler Gaffalione. Broadway Gal is a half-sister to R Gypsy Gold (Bernardini, SW & GISP, $271,417); Broadway's Alibi (Vindication, MGSW & GISP, $521,500); and Golden Lad (Medaglia d'Oro, MGSW, $645,320). Broadway's Alibi sold for $2.15 million out of the Robsham dispersal at the 2013 Keeneland November sale. Ocala Stud sold the winner's dam, Broadway Gold, in foal to Medaglia d'Oro, for $950,000 at last month's Keeneland November sale. The 13-year-old mare, a half-sister to Grade I winner Dialed In (Mineshaft), was bred to Medaglia d'Oro this past spring. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $31,000. O/B-Ocala Stud Farm (FL); T-Todd A. Pletcher.
