Constellation Set to Star Again

LNJ Foxwoods' Constellation (Bellamy Road), who earned the first graded tally of her career with a half-length victory in the GI La Brea S. at Santa Anita last December, enters Saturday's GIII Great Lady M. S. at Los Alamitos off a pair of hard-fought runner-up efforts. The “TDN Rising Star” closed too late when 1 3/4 lengths adrift of the reopposing Pretty N Cool (Scat Daddy) in the six-furlong GIII Las Flores S. Mar. 5 and was just a neck short of Paulassilverlining (Ghostzapper) in the Apr. 8 GI Madison S. at Keeneland last time out.

Finest City (City Zip) won last year's Great Lady M. en route to victory in the GI Breeders' Cup F/M Sprint and the Eclipse title as champion female sprinter. The 5-year-old mare, who opened 2017 with a win in the GII Santa Monica S. in January, was a valiant second behind Vale Dori (Arg) (Asiatic Boy {Arg}) when stretched out to nine furlongs in the Mar. 18 GI Santa Margarita S. She closed well to miss catching Paulassilverlining by a neck in the seven-furlong GI Humana Distaff May 6 and cuts back to 6 1/2 furlongs after chasing Stellar Wind (Curlin) and Vale Dori home in the GI Beholder Mile last time out.

Since winning the Las Flores, Pretty N Cool shipped east for a second-place finish in the May 5 GIII Vagrancy H. at Belmont Park and was most recently third in the June 18 GIII Desert Stormer S. at Santa Anita.
