Contested (Ghostzapper–Gold Vault, by Arch), a two-time Grade I winner for Natalie Baffert, attracted a final bid of $2.3 million from Shadai Farm during Monday's Fasig-Tipton November sale. The 3-year-old filly, who brought $110,000 as a Keeneland September yearling, won this year's GIII Eight Belles S. in May before romping to a five-length victory in the GI Acorn S. She won the GI Test S. at Saratoga in her most recent start.
Shadai continued its buying spree just three hips later, going to $1.45 million to secure Grade I winner C.S. Silk (Medaglia d'Oro–Remember the Day, by Settlement Day). The 6-year-old mare is in foal to Distorted Humor and was consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency.
