Dual Classic winner Churchill (Galileo {Ire}) will stand for €35,000 at Coolmore Ireland in 2018, Coolmore announced on Monday. One of a trio of new sires retiring from the Aidan O'Brien yard, he is joined by MG1SW and world traveler Highland Reel (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) at €17,500.
In addition to his English and Irish Guineas scores, Churchill also numbers the G1 Dubai Dewhurst S. and the G1 Goffs Vincent O'Brien National S. among his Group 1 victories. He was also runner-up in the G1 Juddmonte International at York and third in Ascot's G1 QIPCO Queen Elizabeth II S. The English and Irish highweight juvenile colt's record stands at 13-7-1-2 and earnings of $1,847,877 after an unplaced run in the GI Breeders' Cup Classic, his first try on dirt.
Highland Reel, a gritty third in a title defense of the GI Longines Breeders' Cup Turf, is now the highest earning European-trained horse of all time, with a record of 26-9-6-3, $9,216,658. He has saluted in no less than six Group 1 wins lifetime in America, England and Hong Kong.
