Country Life Farm in Fallston, Maryland will host a stallion show from 11:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m Saturday, Jan. 20. The farm's entire roster, headed by new arrival and 2015 GI Preakness S. runner-up Divining Rod (Tapit), will be available for inspection. Additionally, bloodstock specialist Elizabeth Blythe, who planned the mating that produced two-time Horse of the Year and Country Life-foaled Cigar, will be on hand to discuss how Country Life sire lines match up with individual broodmares.
Divining Rod has been well supported by his partners, Roy and Gretchen Jackson–who bred and campaigned the dark bay on the racetrack–and Gainesway Farm, which made a 10-mare commitment to the stallion over the next four years. Among other notable breeders sending mares to Divining Rod are Ken and Sarah Ramsey of Ramsey Farm. Divining Rod's dam, Precious Kitten (Catienus), is a half-sister to the Ramseys' leading sire Kitten's Joy (El Prado {Ire}).
Breeders in attendance at the stallion show who sign contracts of any of the five stallions–Divining Rod, Mosler (War Front), Super Ninety Nine (Pulpit), Freedom Child (Malibu Moon) and Friesan Fire (A.P. Indy)–will receive a discount.
RSVPs can be made by emailing sallyellen@countrylifefarm.com.
