Court Vision Overcomes Rough Trip In Remsen

Court Vision (Gulch) was bounced around like a ping pong ball during the stretch run of yesterday's GII Remsen S. at Aqueduct, but he brushed off the traffic trouble and fought his way past Atoned (Repent) for his second staight graded-stakes success. “He had to work his way out and bully his way out,” trainer Bill Mott said. “This horse has been all about courage. He finished so strong once he got clear. Heís got a bright future.” The runner-up also had a rough trip, clipping heels on the first turn before recovering to sit just off the pace. He took over in the stretch and kept on gamely, missing by just a neck. “I thought I was falling off; I donít know how I stayed on,” jockey John Velazquez said of the incident. “He ran a great race after falling to his knees. That was a tough way to lose.”
