Cox Pair In Line For York

King's Stand winner Profitable | Racing Post

Profitable (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}) and My Dream Boat (Ire) (Lord Shanakill), who provided trainer Clive Cox with a Group 1 double at Royal Ascot, could be in action at York's Ebor meeting next week.

Profitable looks likely to line up for the G1 Nunthorpe S. over five furlongs, the trip over which he won the G1 King's Stand S. at the Royal meeting.

“Profitable is in excellent form and I have been very pleased with him,” said Cox. “The Nunthorpe is looking like a race to savour and we are very much looking forward to it.”

Profitable finished fourth in the G1 Darley July Cup over six furlongs July 9.

“We decided after Ascot that we would like to give him a run between then and the Nunthorpe,” Cox said. “We gave him a break last year and he didn't thrive on it, so we felt that it was in his best interest to have another run.”

G1 Prince of Wales's S. winner My Dream Boat, most recently fifth of seven in the G1 Coral-Eclipse July 2, is under consideration for the G1 Juddmonte International, should the ground come up suitable.

“My Dream Boat is also in excellent form,” Cox added. “He worked very well on Saturday morning and is under consideration for the Juddmonte International. The main factor in determining his participation will be the ground, as he wouldn't want it too fast. But he's in excellent shape and I have been pleased with him.”
