When a Sir Mark Prescott newcomer comes in for money, you know it's a classy animal and Moon Target (Cracksman) delivered the gamble in style on debut at Newmarket on Saturday. Prominent throughout under Oisin Murphy, Cheveley Park's 5-2 favourite who hails from the family of Frankel's Inspiral turned the two-year-old fillies' seven-furlong maiden into a procession when scoring by 5 1/2 lengths.

The dam is a daughter of the operation's 1,000 Guineas and G1 Coronation Stakes runner-up Starscope (Selkirk) and therefore a half to the brilliant Inspiral by Cracksman's sire Frankel. Successful in the Coronation, in two renewals of the G1 Prix Jacques le Marois and in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf, she is the flagbearer for the family which features the Eclipse hero and sire Medicean. The dam's yearling colt is by Twilight Son, while she also has a filly foal by Night Of Thunder.
