+HEAVEN IS WAITING (c, 2, Creative Cause–Gates of Eden, by Kingmambo), a rare non-Kitten's Joy homebred for the Ramseys, sat a comfortable trip and wore down heavily favored Soglio (Scat Daddy) to graduate at first asking on the Belmont turf. Away sharply from the two-hole at 21-5, the dark bay dueled early on with the 3-5 chalk through a slow :25.55 quarter-mile. Soglio got a half-length of separation past a :50.33 half, but the pair were on even terms once again leaving behind three quarters in 1:14.65. Continuing to duel past the eighth pole, Heaven Is Waiting gradually edged past his rival in the final sixteenth to prevail by a neck. Humo d'Oro (Medaglia d'Oro) closed well to be another neck back in third. Heaven Is Waiting is the seventh winner for his freshman sire (by Giant's Causeway).
