'TDN Rising Star' Maquette (Tapit) is pitched into a pattern race for the first time on Sunday, with the gloves coming off for Khalid Abdullah's unbeaten homebred in the G3 Prix Chloe at Chantilly. Withdrawn from this track's G3 Prix Vanteaux by Andre Fabre, the daughter of the 2011 G1 Prix Jean Romanet winner Announce (GB) (Selkirk) instead made her seasonal debut in a mile conditions event at Compiegne June 10. She has some fair benchmarks to be measured against, including Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum's G1 1000 Guineas fourth Fireglow (GB) (Teofilo {Ire}), who bids to rebound from a latest 11th in the G1 Coronation S. at Royal Ascot June 17. Also of interest is Joseph Allen's War Flag (War Front), a full-sister to Helene Super Star who needs to progress markedly off a narrow conditions win over 9 1/2 furlongs on the Polytrack here at the start of last month.
