Royal Ascot winner Churchill (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) will take the next step up the pattern ladder in Sunday's G2 Galileo EBF Fund Futurity S. at The Curragh. The colt followed his Listed Chesham S. victory with a narrow win over Alexios Komnenos (Ire) (Choisir {Aus}) in the G3 Tyros S. at Leopardstown July 21. O'Brien is mob handed in the race, being responsible for seven of the twelve entrants at this stage and he commented, “Churchill seems to be in good form after Leopardstown and he is the main one in the Futurity Stakes and we will decide later in the week what else will run with him.” The Curragh card also features the G2 Breast Cancer Research Debutante S. for juvenile fillies and again O'Brien can choose from a number of candidates for this event including Royal Ascot winner Brave Anna (War Front) and recent Goodwood maiden winner Rhododendron (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}). “In the Debutante Stakes, Rhododendron is a possible to go there, as is Hydrangea (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), who won at the Curragh last time,” said O'Brien. “We might have something else to run as well but we will take a look closer to the weekend.”
