Curragh To Stage Exhibit

The Curragh | Racing Post

With its redevelopment set to begin in January, The Curragh will stage an exhibit over the final days of its 2016 race meeting to celebrate the end of the current era at the racecourse, as well as looking to the future. The exhibit, sponsored by the Rogers Family and Friarstown Stud, will include memorabilia and artefacts never before seen in public, as well as showcasing plans for the new Curragh.

The exhibit will be open at the races Oct. 9 and 10, and will also be open to the general public through Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Derek McGrath, chief executive officer of Curragh Racecourse Ltd, said, “The development of The Curragh will be a major milestone in the illustrious history of the racecourse, and our final race days of 2016 will give us the opportunity to celebrate the end of an era and the start of a very exciting new chapter. The exhibition will aim to capture a nostalgic look back of all the special events and memories of the past, while also looking forward to the future. It will definitely be something not to be missed and by opening it for the full week will give as many people as possible the opportunity to visit it.”
