Cyrus Alexander (Medaglia d'Oro–Supercharger, by A.P. Indy), winner of the 2016 GIII Lone Star Park H. and a half-brother to 2010 GI Kentucky Derby winner Super Saver (Maria's Mon), has been purchased privately by prominent Peruvian breeder Boris Schwartzman and will enter stud at his Haras Barlovento in Peru during the 2017 Southern Hemisphere season, it was announced Sunday. The deal was brokered by Marrette Farrell.
“Boris and I have worked together for many years and I told him that this half brother to Kentucky Derby winner Super Saver might be a game changer for Peruvian breeders,” Farrell commented.
A $1.7-million Keeneland September yearling purchase by Spendthrift Farm LLC & Stonestreet Stables LLC, Cyrus Alexander won five of 18 starts with earnings of $429,705. He is also a half-brother to GSW Brethren (Distorted Humor), as well as Quickest (Forest Wildcat)–herself the dam of GISW Callback (Street Sense) and SW Defy Gravity (Bandini).
