Lael Stable went to $900,000 to land hip 240, a filly from the first crop of Grade I winner Medaglia d'Oro. The impressively bred filly is a half-sister to Grade I winners Daaher (Awesome Again) and Spun Sugar (Awesome Again) and is a daughter of Irish Cherry (Irish Open), who made $2.7 million at the Keeneland January Sale. Consignor Jim Crupi of Crupi's New Castle Farm purchased the filly for $200,000 at last year's Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale. Trainer Barclay Tagg handled the bidding for Roy and Gretchen Jackson's Lael.
