Dam Of Marcel Set For Goffs February

The dam of Racing Post Trophy winner Marcel will be offered at Goffs February | Racing Post

Mauresmo (Ire) (Marju {Ire}) is catalogued for Goffs's February Sale carrying a full sibling to last year's G1 Racing Post Trophy winner Marcel (Ire) (Lawman {Fr}). The 12-year-old mare (lot 496) is one of 538 lots catalogued for the two-day sale Feb. 10 and 11.

The Feb. 10 session will feature short yearlings including lot 66, a Kodiac (Ire) colt out of stakes winner Kindling (GB) (Dr Fong); lot 78, a Raven's Pass colt who is a half-brother to Group 3 winner Dingle View (Ire) (Mujadil) and five other winners; lot 90, an Equiano (Fr) half-brother to Group 3 winner Miss Anabaa (GB) (Anabaa) and six other winners; lot 160, a Camelot (Ire) half-sister to a pair of stakes winners; and lot 189, a Dark Angel (Ire) half-brother to listed-placed Coolnagree (Ire) (Dark Angel {Ire}) and out of a half-sister to Group 1 winner Lucky Nine (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}).

The sale's second session is comprised of breeding stock and horses in and out of training, and in addition to Mauresmo includes On Location (Street Cry {Ire}) (lot 335), a winning daughter of Grade I winner Film Maker (Empire Maker) and therefore a half-sister to stakes horses Film Making (Storm Cat) and Film Shot (Distorted Humor); River Street (GB) (Machiavellian) (lot 355), a full-sister to Street Cry and the dam of Shamardal in foal to Teofilo (Ire); and Xaloc (Ire) (Shirocco {Ger}) (lot 444), a half-sister to last year's G2 Royal Lodge S. winner Foundation (Ire) in foal to that one's sire, Zoffany (Ire).

The February Sale opens Goffs's 150th anniversary in style,” said Goffs Chief Executive Henry Beeby. “Peniaphobia and Make Believe are just two recent Group 1 winners whose dams were bought at the February Sale and we couldn't be happier with the high-class mares and covering sires that feature in this year's catalogue.”

Vendors have supported the sale with a quality commercial bunch of Flat and National Hunt weanlings sure to be of great interest to pinhookers and end users alike, while the most commercial stallions in the game can be found throughout,” Beeby added.
