Dansili Filly Impresses in US Debut for Juddmonte

GRAND JETE (GB) (f, 4, Dansili {GB}–Modern Look {GB} {MGSW-Fr & SP-US, $281,388}, by Zamindar) was well-supported at the windows for her first Stateside start at Keeneland and ran to the money, producing a powerful stretch kick to easily best a field of allowance fillies and mares for Juddmonte Farms and Chad Brown. Breaking her maiden against males fourth out last summer at Clairefontaine in France, the homebred closed out her sophomore campaign with an eighth-place run in the Prix Ceres Nov. 17 at Fontainebleau and was subsequently transferred from the David Smaga stable. Showing a steady series of drills over the Palm Meadows turf for this 4-year-old bow, the bay was away without issue and settled in fourth as the 11-5 chalk. Tracking about four lengths behind splits of :24.37 and :48.98, Grand Jete was produced in the center of the course nearing the top of the lane and blew by the frontrunners in just a few strides, kicking away in the final furlong to an impressive 4 1/4-length success. Prudence (Pleasantly Perfect) won a photo for second at 22-1. The winner's dam is a half to MG1SW Foreteller (GB) (Dansili {GB}) out of G1SW Prophecy (Ire) (Warning {GB}). Third dam Andaleeb (Lyphard) was a GSW out of 1973 GII Kentucky Oaks heroine Bag of Tunes (Herbager). Lifetime Record: 9-2-2-3, $88,359.
