Dark Angel's Charyn Will Lead Sumbe Roster At €35,000

Dark Angel (Ire)'s Charyn (Ire) will stand for €35,000 during his first season at Sumbe's Haras de Montfort et Preaux in 2025, Nurlan Bizakov's operation announced on Tuesday.

A winner of the G1 Queen Anne Stakes, G1 Prix Jacques le Marois and the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes all in 2024, the classy miler is now bound for a final start in Japan's G1 Mile Championship on Nov. 17. Bred by Grangemore Stud, the Roger Varian trainee was a 250,000gns Tattersalls October Book 2 yearling when offered by his breeder and picked up by Sumbe.

The grey is joined by globetrotting multiple Group 1 winner Mishriff (Ire) at €16,000. His first foals will arrive in 2025. G1 Jean-Luc Lagardere-winning juveniles Angel Bleu (Fr) and Belbek (Fr) both also covered their first mares this season. The sons of Dark Angel and Showcasing (GB) have been priced at €8,000 and €6,000, respectively. Rounding out the roster is Golden Horde (Ire) at €4,000. Sired by Dark Angel's Lethal Force (Ire), he is already the sire of four first-crop winners in France and Great Britain. His half-sibling Camille Pissarro (Ire) (Wootton Bassett {GB}) won the latest edition of the Jean-Luc Lagardere on Arc Day.
