It was reported yesterday that top Southern Hemisphere jockey Darren Beadman, currently plying his trade in Hong Kong, had rejected an offer from Darley to return to Australia to ride first call for the powerful operation. Darley Australia General Manager Olly Tait said Thursday that the reports were not true, and that Darley had never made such an offer. “Darren Beadman has not at any time been asked to return to Australia to ride for Darley,” Tait said. “We wish him every success with his engagements in Hong Kong. At the present time, we have no plans to retain a jockey.”
