'Dawn' Celebrates Winner in Japan

European champion juvenile and G1 2000 Guineas hero, Darley stallion Dawn Approach (Ire) (New Approach {Ire}) celebrated his third winner worldwide and first in Japan on Sunday. Bred by Yasushi Kubota, Fast Approach (Jpn), out of the G3 Tyros S. third Jolie Jioconde (Ire) (Flame of Tara {Ire}), saluted in a 1500-metre maiden at Sapporo on Sunday. The blaze-faced chestnut rated in midpack through the early going and rallied perched three off the fence to the head of affairs on the far turn. He swept imperiously clear from there, winning as much the best by five lengths. (Video). He was fourth in his first trip to the post going 1400 metres at Tokyo June 10. Dawn Approach's other pair of winners include G3 Silver Flash S. third Dawn Delivers (GB). Fast Approach's dam is a full-sister to MG1SW Satono Crown (Jpn), as well as G1 Cheveley Park S. heroine Lightening Pearl (Ire).
