A colt by Japanese Horse of the Year Deep Impact topped Monday's yearling session of the Japan Racing Horse Association Select Sale in Hokkaido with a final bid of 66,000,000 yen ($745,516). The colt, out of Isle de France (Nureyev), was purchased by Makoto Kaneko, who raced Deep Impact. During Monday's session of the auction, 173 yearlings sold for 3,157,100,000 yen. The average, 18,249,133 yen, declined 17.6 percent from a year ago. The foal session of the sale begins 10 a.m. Tuesday
