Digital Kitchen's production of “Ironman Perry Ouzts”, directed by the Hennegan Brothers, captured the Media Eclipse Award for Television–Feature, announced the National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA), Daily Racing Form and the National Turf Writers and Broadcasters (NTWAB) Monday. The documentary tells the story of 61-year-old journeyman jockey Perry Ouzts, the 11th leading Thoroughbred jockey of all-time based at Belterra Park in Cincinnati, Ohio, which aired on AT&T U-Verse Sports Aug. 15, 2015. It is the second Eclipse Award for Brad and John Hennegan, who won for the television feature “First Saturday in May.” The awards will be announced at the 45th Annual Eclipse Awards dinner and ceremony at Gulfstream Park Racing & Casino in Hallandale Beach, Florida Saturday Jan. 16.
“It's amazing,” said Brad Hennegan, on winning his second Eclipse. “We're big fans of horse racing and we love telling stories about the hardworking people that are there day in and day out. There are no days off at the track.”
Tickets for the Eclipse Awards are $400 each.
