For the 13th time in its 26-year history, the Carreras de las Estrellas, Argentina´s version of the Breeders' Cup World Championships, will be staged over the Hipodromo Argentino de Palermo dirt course.

The rich six Group 1-race programme, set to distribute 6,600,000 Argentine pesos, is traditionally anchored by the 2000-metre centerpiece, the Gran Premio Estrellas Classic – Copa Escribano Hernan Ceriani Cernadas, for 3-year-olds and up, where Argentina's top older horse Don Inc (Arg) (Include) will bid to record a second Group 1 success after annihilating his rivals on turf in the G1 Gran Premio 25 de Mayo at San Isidro.

Runner-up in last year's G1 Gran Premio Carlos Pellegrini, South America's most illustrious race, Don Inc will attempt to close out his productive 3-year-old season on a high note with his first success on dirt after finishing no worse than third in 11 previous career starts for owner Stud Las Monjitas.

Don Inc's main opposition include the Roberto Pellegata trainee Saltarin Dubai (Arg) (E Dubai), recent winner of the Listed Clasico Malvinas Argentinas over the course and distance; in addition to G1 Gran Premio Republica Argentina runner-up Romano (Arg) (Roman Ruler) and last year's Estrellas Classic second Extra Quiz (Arg) (Lizard Island).

The other five races on the Carreras de las Estrellas card include the 1600-metre Estrellas Juvenile – Copa Sr. Raul F.M. Lottero and Estrellas Juvenile Fillies – Copa Dr. Pedro C. Blaquier; the 2000-metre Estrellas Distaff; the Estrellas Mile and the 1000-metre Estrellas Sprint (Arg-G1).
